What it’s like

Indoor electric go-karting on an 800m multi-level track, with a Mini Racers option for younger kids who aren't tall enough for the real thing yet.

This is proper indoor karting, not the pootling-round-a-car-park sort. The track runs over 800m across multiple levels with up to 17 karts out at once, so once your eight-year-old is strapped in they're actually racing, not just going in a slow circle. No driving licence needed and they'll talk you through the basics before you're let loose.

The catch is the height and age rule. You need to be 8 years old with a 25 inch inside leg and at least 1.2 metres tall to drive a proper kart, which rules out plenty of eight-year-olds on the smaller side. If your child's between 4 and 7 and between 1.0m and 1.4m tall, there's a Mini Racers session instead, so nobody has to just stand and watch. Under-16s need an adult of 18 or over with them too, which is fine if you were planning to race alongside them anyway.

Booking is essential and they take full payment upfront, non-refundable, which stings a bit if plans change, though there's a Flexi-book option if you want the wiggle room. Spectating is free and you don't need to book for that, so grandparents or younger siblings can just turn up to watch from the bar area and cheer. Food-wise there's a bar and restaurant on site with buffet options, but outside food isn't allowed and it's card only, no cash.

Parking's free on site, which helps given the venue's a bit of a walk from the nearest train stations. Wheelchair access is partial, with disabled parking available but the upstairs bar out of reach due to stairs.

What age can kids go karting here?

Karting proper starts at 8, but they also need a 25 inch inside leg and to be at least 1.2m tall. Younger kids aged 4 to 7 between 1.0m and 1.4m tall can do the Mini Racers session instead.

Do we need to book in advance?

Booking is essential, there's limited space on each session. Full payment is taken at the time of booking and it's non-refundable, though a Flexi-book option gives you some amendment flexibility.

Do you need a driving licence to race?

No licence needed. They give newcomers guidance and training before the first race.

Can we just come and watch?

Spectating is free and open to any age, no booking needed. Just turn up and watch from the bar areas.

Is there parking?

Free parking on-site.

Can we bring our own food?

Outside food isn't allowed. There's a bar and restaurant on site with buffet options instead.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Partially. There's disabled parking and access to some spectator areas and pit lane sections, but the upstairs bar isn't reachable due to stairs.
