What it’s like

Indoor karting on a nine-corner circuit, with a Mini Racers option for kids from age four and crazy golf if racing isn't enough.

The main event is the circuit itself, nine corners indoors, which is enough to get a decent race going without anyone feeling like they've been on it for an hour. Kids need to be 8 and up for a proper kart, with an inside leg of at least 25 inches and a height of 1.2m, and from that age they can race on their own if they fancy it. Younger ones aren't shut out though, the Mini Racers sessions are built for 4 to 7 year olds between 1.0m and 1.4m, so you can bring a genuinely small kid and still get them behind a wheel.

Anyone under 16 needs an adult with them on site, but you don't have to be racing to be there. Spectating is free and there are proper viewing areas, so if you've got one child old enough to race and one who isn't, the younger one isn't just stuck in the car park. There's crazy golf too, nine holes, which is a decent way to fill time before or after a session or to give non-racers something to do.

Booking is essential, not a nice-to-have, and they take full payment upfront to hold your slot. Worth knowing that bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, so double-check your session time before you pay rather than after. It's a cashless venue as well, card only for everything including food, and outside food isn't allowed in.

Parking's free on-site, which takes the sting out slightly, and there's wifi if you're waiting around. Wheelchair access covers the lower level and the spectator areas, but the upper level and bar are out of reach, worth bearing in mind if that affects your group.

Plan your visit

Do we need to book in advance?

Yes, and it's essential rather than optional. They take full payment at the time of booking to hold your slot, and sessions have limited space.

What's the minimum age to race?

8 years old for a standard kart, with a minimum inside leg of 25 inches and a height of 1.2m. Younger kids from 4 to 7 can do the Mini Racers experience if they're between 1.0m and 1.4m tall.

Can my child race without me?

From age 8 they can race solo if they want to. Anyone under 16 still needs an adult with them on site, even if that adult isn't racing.

Can we just come and watch?

Spectating is free and there are dedicated viewing areas, so it works fine if only some of the group is racing.

Is there parking?

Free parking on-site, plus disabled parking close to the entrance.

Can we bring our own food?

No, outside food isn't allowed at the venue. You'll need to eat from the on-site Fuel Bars.

What food is available?

The Fuel Bars do hot and soft drinks, smoothies, milkshakes and vegetarian options, plus alcohol for the adults if you fancy a pint after your race.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

Partially. The lower level and spectator viewing areas are accessible, but the upper level and bar area aren't.

What if we mess up the booking or need to cancel?

Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, so it's worth being sure of your date and time before you pay.
