What it’s like
Indoor karting on a 500m multi-level track, with proper racing from age 8 and a Mini Racer session for the 4 to 7s.
The big track is the 500m multi-level circuit, and that's where the racing happens once your kid is 8, tall enough (under 1.6m, so bigger teenagers might be out of luck) and has the inside leg measurement to reach the pedals. No driving licence needed, which always surprises people, and there's guidance before anyone's let loose. Under that age, there's a Mini Racer experience instead, so a four-year-old isn't left in the spectator seats sulking while an older sibling gets all the fun.
Helmets and race suits are provided, but you'll want a balaclava, either your own or £3.99 on the day, and trainers rather than anything open-toed. It's card only throughout, no cash accepted anywhere, and bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, so double-check the date before you commit. Pre-booking is essential too, there's no turning up on spec and hoping for a gap on the track.
Food is on site, smoothies, milkshakes, hot drinks and a buffet menu, but outside food isn't allowed in, which is worth knowing if you've got a fussy eater who won't touch anything on offer. Spectators get in free and don't need to book, so grandparents or non-racing siblings can just come and watch from the bar area. Parking's free on site, and there's wifi if you need to kill time waiting for a session.
Birthday parties and corporate events both run here, with 40 to 60 minutes of karting plus food, drink and a podium moment for the winner. Access is only partial: the spectator area is fine for wheelchair users, but the pit lane and bar aren't, which is a real gap if a parent using a wheelchair wants to be trackside with their kid.
