Libraries in Liverpool

Liverpool's libraries have grown into proper days out, not just places to borrow a book. Lister Steps at The Old Library has swapped hushed shelves for a café, a helter skelter slide and party rooms. Crosby Library keeps a weekly story time and a Lego and board games club going, with study pods upstairs for older kids. Out at Birkenhead Central Library, rhyme time for babies and an after school Lego club cost nothing at all. If you want free and easy, Bebington Central Library and Birkenhead Central Library both run baby and toddler sessions plus Lego Club without charging a penny, and both have free parking. Toddlers do well at rhyme time or story sessions, while older children get Lego and Dungeons and Dragons clubs at Bebington. Allerton Library is a quieter option for browsing or council service help, with step-free access and blue badge parking. For something livelier indoors, Lister Steps has the slide and the café to fall back on.
