Libraries in Leicester

Leicester's libraries are the sort of places you can duck into without a plan and come out with an afternoon sorted. Belgrave Library, close to the centre, runs a homework club for school-age kids and scraps overdue fines for under-16s, so nobody panics about a late picture book. St. Barnabas Library, a little further out, has a Digital and Performance Suite worth a look alongside the usual book borrowing. Hamilton Library and Learning Centre, a short trip out, puts on events for all ages and has toilets on site, useful with smaller children in tow. All three are free to get into, so the choice comes down to what else is on offer that day. If homework or after-school company matters, Belgrave has that sorted. If your children need something a bit different to do once the books are chosen, St. Barnabas has the performance space. Wifi runs through all of them, handy for older kids working or adults killing time while little ones pick their next read.
