Aquariums & Sea Life in Cardiff

There's not much of a proper aquarium on the doorstep here, but there's a bit of everything if you widen your search. Tropiquaria Zoo out at Watchet (a longer trip from Cardiff) combines a tropical aquarium with snakes and meerkats under one roof, and it's got indoor and outdoor play for when the animal talks are done. Closer in, Newport Pets in Lliswerry isn't a day out as such, but it's worth knowing about if your kids just want to peer into tanks of fish and aquarium kit on a wet afternoon. For an actual day trip with children, Tropiquaria is the one to plan around, and the entry price from £11.45 makes it easy on the wallet. If you're after something for the adults instead, Revival Floatation Centre in Cardiff is 18+ only, an hour lying in warm saltwater with the phone left in the car. There's free parking at Newport Pets if you're passing that way.
