Observatories & Planetariums in Birmingham

If you're after a proper planetarium in Birmingham, it's Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum you want. It's right in the centre, about a kilometre out, so easy to get to without a long trek. Tickets start from £9.95 and it's open to all ages, with a 4K planetarium show alongside more than 200 hands-on science exhibits. For families with younger children, MiniBrum is the bit to head for first, it's built for smaller hands and shorter attention spans. Older kids will get more from the wider science exhibits before or after the planetarium show. It's all indoors, so a good option on a wet day, and there's parking, a cafe and a picnic area if you want to make a full afternoon of it. Baby change and wheelchair access are both in place too.
