Sheffield doesn't have a coastline, so anyone after actual sand and sea will need a proper trip out. What's here instead is a pair of very different city options, and neither's in Sheffield itself. Nottingham Beach is a free pop-up in the middle of Nottingham, with real sand, a pool and paid rides running right through summer. Then there's a longer trip out to Leicester for Golden Beach Karaoke Bar, which isn't a beach at all but leans into the name with private karaoke rooms, cocktails and food brought to your table, 5pm to 2am. If you've got children, Nottingham Beach is the one to plan around: it's free to get in, outdoors, and the rides are paid separately, so you can just watch and paddle if you'd rather not spend. Bring cash as well as a card, since both are used there. The karaoke bar is 18+ only, no children, and works better as an evening out once the kids are sorted elsewhere.
