Dance in Plymouth

Plymouth has proper choice if you want your child to try dance rather than just watch it on the telly. Hartley House Dance Club in the city centre runs classes for a wide age range, from Baby Ballet through to RAD exams, medals and awards, so there is a clear path as they get older. Plymouth Dance Academy, just up the road, starts even earlier with Ballet Bunnies for babies and toddlers, then moves through ballet, tap, modern, ballroom and Latin as they grow. For the very youngest, Baby Ballet or Ballet Bunnies are the obvious starting point, both gentle and playful rather than exam-focused. If your child fancies something more structured later on, Hartley House's exam and medal route gives that. Note that Donaheys Ballroom Dance Lessons, out at four kilometres from the centre, is 18+ only, ballroom and Latin weekends with Strictly Come Dancing professionals from £71.50, so that one is for the adults to book for a date night, not the kids.
