What it’s like
Climbing in Newark with Clip n Climb, an IFSC speed wall and a 15m main wall, plus party packages.
YMCA Climbing Centre Newark is the purpose-built indoor climbing facility at Lord Hawke Way, Newark-on-Trent (NG24 4FH). You get bouldering areas, a 15m main wall, an IFSC Olympic standard speed wall and Clip n Climb with 15 challenges. There is a cafe on site, Village car parking with disabled spaces, and party packages with a dedicated Party Host.
Clip n Climb starts from age 4. Coach-guided wall sessions are listed from age 6+. WILD Climbers covers ages 5-7 and NICAS Levels 1-5 run for ages 8-18. Open climbing for under-18s needs a competent parent or guardian who has completed the novice supervision induction (max two under-18s). Novices are steered to Learn to Boulder or intro sessions rather than open rope time.
Non-member PAYG starts from £8 off-peak bouldering (open climbing from £12.50; Clip n Climb from £10 Fri after school / £14 weekend). Book via the live online timetable, as events can interrupt standard service. Climbing open sessions typically run roughly 09:00-21:00 weekdays for bouldering (roped hours vary by day) and shorter weekend windows. Party prices are bespoke, so enquire via the party packages page.
