What it’s like
Climbing in New Basford with ropes, auto-belays and bouldering, plus a dedicated kids' party room.
Nottingham Climbing Centre at New Basford is the ropes-and-boulder indoor centre at 212 Noel Street (NG7 7FR). You get lead and top-rope lines, seven auto-belays, 150+ boulder problems, a dedicated kids' bouldering area and a kids' party room. There is a cafe with a log burner, a shop and free wifi.
Kids parties start from age 5 (from £16.50pp, min four kids; ring for availability). Wild Climbers covers ages 5-7 and NICAS runs 7-18. Family Tasters let at least one adult climb with your child so you can learn to supervise. Under-18s need a parent or guardian on the waiver and supervision at all times.
Open day-entry prices are not published online, so check with the centre or on arrival. Listed courses include Family Taster from £20pp (2 hr) and adult intros from £25pp. Open Mon-Fri 10:00-22:00 and Sat-Sun 09:00-20:00. You can turn up for general climbing; arrive early on a first visit for the waiver and mandatory safety orientation, and book classes ahead.
