What it’s like
Bouldering walls up to 4 metres for kids from age 1 upwards, with instructor-led holiday sessions for the over-7s.
The climbing here is all bouldering, walls up to 4 metres over safety matting, so there's no harness faff for littler ones to sit through before they get climbing. Depot Play classes are aimed at under-5s and their parents, and once your child's past 7 there are holiday sessions with an instructor if you want them properly taught rather than just let loose on the wall.
Entry for an under-18 is £8.50, adults £11.50, and shoe hire is £3.50 if you haven't got your own. It's cashless throughout, so leave the coins at home. Opening is 9am to 10pm on weekdays and 9am to 9pm at weekends, and Monday mornings between 9 and 12 they turn the music down and skip any drill work, which is worth knowing if you've got a child who finds busy centres a lot.
There's a café on site for snacks and coffee, and the toilets are there if you need them mid-session. Parking's the one genuine catch. There's none on site, but paid parking sits around the area and the Curzon Street car park is a two-minute walk if you'd rather not chance the on-street spaces.
