What it’s like

Outdoor bouldering in Nottingham with a sheltered kids' wall under the bridge, booked in two-hour slots.

This is climbing on real rock-style structures outdoors, with a sheltered wall under the bridge for the kids and the wetter days. From age 4 they can get stuck into the kids' section, working out routes and problems without a rope in sight.

A two-hour slot is £12 a head, all ages the same price, and it's pre-booked. From August 2026 that booking is compulsory rather than a nice-to-have, so turning up on spec won't work. There's a café on site doing food if the two hours leaves anyone hungry.

Parking is free for three hours, but you have to register at reception the moment you arrive or you'll lose that. It's an easy thing to forget with kids pulling you towards the wall, so it's worth doing first.

If it's a birthday, the catered party option is £16 a head, and scout or group bookings drop to £8.50 a person. Worth knowing if you're bringing more than a couple of kids, since the per-head price changes the maths quite a bit.
