What it’s like
Guided rock climbing, mountain biking and abseiling days out, booked in small private groups rather than turning up on the day.
This isn't a drop-in activity centre, it's a guide who takes your group out for the day and matches the activity to what you fancy: rock climbing, mountain biking, abseiling, scrambling, hill walking or a proper hill and mountain skills course. Everything's built around small groups, so it's you and whoever you've brought along getting the guide's full attention rather than queuing behind a dozen strangers.
The pricing is per group, not per head, which changes the maths depending on your numbers. A half day of rock climbing, mountain biking or abseiling is £150 for up to three (four for abseiling), and a full day pushes to £192. If it's just one or two of you, the guided walk at £50 per person per day might work out cheaper, and the 10 climbs in 10km challenge is priced either as a group day at £192 or one to one at £180 if you want the guide's undivided attention on that one.
There's no online booking link. Given the price and the small group sizes, this reads like something you plan properly rather than a spur of the moment outing, best suited to older kids and teenagers who can handle a full day scrambling or climbing rather than a toddler's afternoon out.
Worth knowing before you commit: the site itself spends a fair bit of space talking about fear of heights and vertigo, and how to manage it with the right guidance, so if height nerves are a factor for anyone in your group, that's clearly something they've thought about and can talk you through.
Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
It's priced per group, not per person. Half day rock climbing, mountain biking or abseiling is £150 for up to three (four for abseiling), full day is £192, and a guided walk is £50 per person per day.
Do we need to book?
There's no online booking, so you'd need to contact them directly to arrange a date and pick your activity.
What can we actually do there?
Rock climbing, mountain biking, abseiling, scrambling, hill walking and hill and mountain skills courses, all guided.
Is this suitable if someone's nervous of heights?
The site talks a lot about fear of heights and vertigo and how a guide can help you manage it gradually, so it sounds like something they're used to dealing with rather than a reason to avoid it.
What's the 10 climbs in 10km challenge?
It's a full day challenge priced at £192 for a group of up to two, or £180 if you want it done one to one with the guide.
