What it’s like

Walk an alpaca round an obstacle course, feed the goats and hens, then bring your own picnic for afterwards.

This is a booked slot, not a farm you wander round. You turn up for at least 1.5 hours, walk an alpaca through its obstacle course, do the same with a goat, then work your way round feeding the hens and having bunny time. Everyone gets treats to hand out and there's a certificate at the end for the kids, which is a nice touch for the price you're paying.

And the price is the thing to know before you book. An adult and a toddler is £30, same as an adult with a six to nine year old, and a solo walker over ten is £20 on their own. If there are five or more of you it drops to £10 a head, which makes it a much better deal for a family group or a small birthday party than a single couple with one child.

Slots are fixed rather than flexible: mornings at 10:30 most days, afternoons at 4pm on Wednesday and Sunday. Heavy rain means they'll reschedule you, and the coldest months can see the whole thing paused, so this isn't a rock up regardless of the forecast kind of visit. Parking's free and dogs are welcome, but leave the pushchair in the car, the field isn't up to it and they recommend a sling instead.

Parties get two gazebos, decorations and a choice of the classic walk or a feeding-focused version, with crafts and games like Pin the Tail on the Alpaca thrown in. There's no food on offer though, so parties bring their own and staff do the clearing up.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

An adult with a toddler or with a six to nine year old is £30. A solo walker over ten is £20, same as an adult with a baby who's carried rather than walking. Groups of five or more pay £10 each, whatever the age.

Do we need to book?

Yes, it's a booked slot system rather than turning up on the day.

What ages does it suit?

They say all ages are welcome from toddlers to grandparents, and there's a baby carried price too.

How long does a visit take?

At least 1.5 hours, often longer once you've done the alpaca walk, goat walk and all the feeding.

Can we bring a pushchair?

Better not to. The field isn't suitable for pushchairs, so a sling is the recommended option instead.

What happens if it rains?

Light rain and you're fine to go ahead. Heavy rain or storms mean they'll reschedule your visit.

Is it open in winter?

It can be paused during the coldest months for the animals' comfort, so worth checking timing if you're booking in deep winter.

Is there food on site?

On-site food licence, so for parties you bring your own and they handle the cleanup.

Can you do a birthday party there?

Fully customisable parties with either the alpaca and goat experience or a feeding-focused one, plus crafts, games and two gazebos for shelter.

Is parking easy?

There's free on-site parking.
