What it’s like

A year-long stage school in Glasgow (plus Edinburgh and Greenock) where kids sign up for a full academic year of drama, singing and dance, not a one-off session.

This isn't a drop-in drama club, it's a proper stage school. Kids enrol for the length of an academic year, August to June, following the same term dates as Glasgow City Council, and they're expected to turn up week after week rather than dip in when they fancy it. That's a bigger ask than a Saturday morning class, so it suits a child who's already keen on performing rather than one you're hoping to interest in it.

The classes themselves cover the usual triple-threat stage school ground, and the site's uniform policy gives you a clue what's involved: a TSOS jumper or top, black leggings or trousers, and jazz shoes, which points to dance and movement being a core part of the timetable alongside acting and singing. There's also a pantomime strand running separately, with rehearsals every Sunday from 3pm to 9pm starting 1st October, so if your child gets cast in that you're committing a chunk of Sunday afternoons and evenings on top of the regular class.

Money is handled per class rather than as one school-wide fee. Each class on the timetable has its own "Info & Booking" link with the actual price. Payment then runs monthly over 12 months, though the school will switch you to a 10-month schedule if you email and ask, which is worth knowing if the summer gap makes 12 months of payments feel a stretch.

Enrolment isn't year-round either. It opens once a year, August to September, so this is a plan-ahead decision rather than something you can sign your child up for on a whim in February.

  • Enrolment only opens once a year, August to September, so you can't join partway through term.
  • They're closed on Fridays but open the other six days of the week.
  • Pantomime rehearsals run every Sunday from 3pm to 9pm starting 1st October, on top of regular weekly classes.
  • Ask about the 10-month payment plan by email if the standard 12-month schedule doesn't suit.

Plan your visit

What do the classes actually cover?

It's stage school territory: acting, singing and dance, judging by the uniform requirement of jazz shoes and leggings for movement work. There's also a separate pantomime strand with its own rehearsal schedule.

How much does it cost?

There's no single price. Each class has its own listing with its own fee under the 'Info & Booking' link once you've picked a site on their timetable.

When can I sign my child up?

Enrolment opens once a year, August through September, so it's not something you can join mid-year on a whim.

What age is this suitable for?

They take children from age 3 right up to 18, so both very young beginners and teenagers are catered for on the timetable, just check which class matches your child's age.

How long does the course run and how often are classes?

Courses run the length of an academic year, August to June, following Glasgow City Council term dates. The timetable on their site shows the day and time for each specific class.

Is there a uniform?

Yes, a TSOS jumper or top with black leggings or trousers and jazz shoes, all orderable through the shop tab on their website.
