What it’s like
A lunchtime play with a pie and a pint included, for grown-ups only, not for the kids.
This is not a family outing. The venue's own rules put the minimum age at 14, and that's because of the licence, not fussiness, since plenty of the plays have swearing and themes that wouldn't suit younger teens either. If you're picturing a panto with the kids, this isn't it, though Òran Mór does put on Christmas and summer pantomimes separately from this lunchtime series.
What you actually get is a new play every week, running downstairs at Òran Mór, with a scotch pie or vegan sausage roll and a drink included in the ticket price. Doors open at midday (12.30pm on Mondays), the play starts at 1pm and runs no longer than an hour, so it's a proper lunch-break sized outing rather than a big afternoon commitment. Seating is first come first served, so if you want a decent spot you turn up early and grab your food and drink before the show starts, because the bar closes once the performance begins and pies can run out.
Prices climb through the week: £17 on Mondays, £19 Tuesday to Friday, £22.50 on Saturdays. There's a £12.50 play-only rate for students, arts workers and anyone unemployed or on a low income, Tuesday to Thursday, which is the one to grab if you qualify. Tickets are non-refundable, so a change of plan means trying to swap dates rather than getting your money back, and online sales cut off at 11am on the day, though walk-ups are possible if there's room.
There's no on-site parking, just pay and display on the street with disabled bays nearby. The venue's wheelchair accessible with a lift in from Fonn Mór on Great Western Road and moveable seats inside, though it's worth knowing Hillhead Subway itself isn't step-free, so the walk in from Partick train station or one of the buses might suit better if that matters to you.

Is this suitable for kids?
No. The minimum age is 14 because of the venue's licence, and many of the plays have swearing or mature themes that go beyond that anyway.
How much are tickets?
£17 on Mondays, £19 Tuesday to Friday and £22.50 on Saturdays. There's a £12.50 play-only rate Tuesday to Thursday for students, arts workers and anyone unemployed or on a low income.
Do we need to book?
Online sales close at 11am on the day, so book ahead if you want to be sure. Walk-ups are possible on the day but only if there's space left.
How long does it last?
Doors open at midday (12.30pm Mondays), the play starts at 1pm and generally runs no longer than an hour.
Is food included?
Every general ticket includes a scotch pie or vegan sausage roll plus a drink, alcoholic or soft.
What if we're running late?
They'll let you in up to 10 minutes after the show starts, but there's no guarantee a pie will still be waiting for you.
Is there parking?
No on-site parking, just pay and display street parking nearby with disabled bays available.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
There's step-free lift access via Fonn Mór on Great Western Road and moveable seating inside. Hillhead Subway station itself isn't accessible, so the walk from Partick train station or a bus might work better.
Can we get a refund if we can't make it?
Tickets are non-refundable, though they may be able to swap you to a different date depending on availability.
Is seating reserved?
It's first come first served, so get there early and sort your food and drink before the play starts.
