WHERE

Ellesmere Port

What it’s like

A local theatre for panto season, family films, discos and Saturday hangouts, with a café and step-free access throughout.

Shows are the main event here, whether that's a pantomime, a family film screening or one of the Saturday Family Hangouts. There are discos and other events too, so it's not a one-trick venue if you're after somewhere to take the kids more than once a season.

Getting in and around is straightforward. There's step-free access on the ground floor and a platform lift up to the first, plus accessible toilets and baby changing, so a buggy or a wheelchair shouldn't cause you any bother. If anyone in your group is disabled or neurodivergent and needs a bit more support, they offer tailored Supported Visits with Access and Pastoral Staff, which is a nice touch for a venue this size.

Ground Up Café does the food side of things, with toasties, bagels, soups and sandwiches, plus gluten-free and veggie options if that matters to your family. It's not a big dining hall, more a decent stop before or after a show.

Parking's free, which is one less thing to think about. There's a small car park right next to the building, and if that's full there's a bigger one in the park nearby, though some bays there have a four-hour limit so check which one you've pulled into if you're staying longer. If you'd rather leave the car, there's a bus stop just outside and the railway station's a fifteen-minute walk.
