What it’s like

A live music and show venue in Wirral with tribute nights and touring acts, tickets from £24.

This is a proper theatre for an evening out, not a soft play or a farm, so it suits parents after a night without the kids as much as anyone wanting to bring along a teenager who's into the music. The programme runs to tribute acts and touring shows, Ray Quinn and a P!nk show among them, with standard tickets for Ray Quinn at £26, concessions at £24 and VIP at £46. The P!nk show is £28 a ticket.

Concessions cover senior citizens, students with ID and children under 16, so a family ticket isn't a single line item but the discount is there if you ask for it. Under-twos who'll sit on a lap don't need their own ticket, which is worth knowing if you're bringing a baby along to an evening show. Seats can be pre-booked online, by phone or in person at the box office, though some shows are general admission with no allocated seating, so check which kind you're booking before you turn up expecting a specific row.

Getting there is easy enough. There's a large free car park round the back plus street parking, and Port Sunlight railway station is a two-minute walk if you'd rather leave the car at home. The building itself has a sloped ramp entrance on Greendale Road and designated wheelchair seats in the auditorium, and they ask that you let them know in advance if you'll need assistance on the day.

If anyone in your party holds a Carer ID Card, CEA Card or Nimbus Access Card, the essential companion seat is free, but it has to go through the box office rather than being booked online.
