What it’s like

Yoga, Pilates, Qigong, mindfulness and reflexology classes for teens upwards, run on a membership you can pause or cancel with a month's notice.

This is a studio setup rather than a drop-in class, so it suits someone from about 12 up who wants to actually commit to yoga, Pilates, Health Qigong or mindfulness meditation on a regular basis. There's also massage therapy and reflexology on the books, including an Advanced Reflexology session with heated boots at £45 for 45 minutes, which sounds like the sort of thing you save for after a bad week rather than a first visit.

The membership structure is where most people will spend their time deciding. Healthy Mind & Body membership is £50 and gets you up to 10 classes a month across yoga, Pilates, Qigong and mindfulness, plus one free guest class, with online options if you can't get there in person. Healthy Body membership drops to £32.50 if you just want the movement classes, and there are Senior versions at £45 and £30 that shave a fiver off each. Classes need booking a week ahead, which is a bit of forward planning for something meant to help you switch off.

If you'd rather try before committing, there's a 14 day free trial guest pass that lets you book two classes a week for a fortnight, with a waiting list if your slot's full, plus 10% off the Wellbeing Store while you're deciding. The 12 Month Membership at £480 works out cheaper across the year and can be paused, but you're locked into a month's notice to cancel.

It's a four minute walk from Muirend Train Station and there's free parking nearby, so getting there without a car isn't a problem. The building itself is wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet, and the upper studio and kitchen are also available for room hire if you're after a space for an event rather than a class.

What ages is this suitable for?

It's aimed at teens upwards, from around 12 to 25 based on the classes on offer, though the format reads as adult wellbeing rather than anything geared at children.

How much does membership cost?

Healthy Mind & Body is £50 a month for up to 10 classes, Healthy Body is £32.50 for movement classes only. Senior memberships are £45 and £30 respectively, and the 12 Month Membership is £480.

Do we need to book classes in advance?

Yes, classes are booked a week ahead, so this isn't one for turning up on a whim.

Is there a way to try it out first?

There's a 14 day free trial guest pass, valid for two weeks, letting you book up to two classes a week on a first-booked basis.

What if a class is fully booked?

A waiting list operates once a class fills up, both for members and trial pass holders.

Is there parking and how do we get there without a car?

There's free parking in the surrounding area, and it's a four minute walk from Muirend Train Station with local bus services nearby too.

Can I cancel or pause my membership?

The 12 Month Membership can be paused anytime but needs a month's cancellation notice, which is worth factoring in before you commit to the longer term option.
