What it’s like

An indoor ramp park in Haywards Heath where kids from 4 up ride skateboards, scooters or inline skates in booked sessions.

Ramps, a graffiti wall and relay races are the order of the day here, whether your kid turns up on a skateboard, a scooter or a pair of inline skates. Sessions are split by what you ride, so scooter kids aren't dodging skateboarders, and there are 1-to-1 lessons if they want proper coaching on a drop-in rather than just winging it. No board? No bother, you can hire kit on site rather than buy one before you know if it's going to stick.

Four is the starting age and there's genuinely no ceiling on it, they even run a dedicated over-35s night, so this isn't just a kids' activity you're dropping them at. Helmets and protective gear are compulsory, which is fair enough given what's being attempted on those ramps.

The one real faff: everything has to be booked online in advance, there's no turning up on spec even if you can see empty ramps through the window. Term time weekdays it's open 4pm to 9pm, weekends 8am to 9pm, but those weekday hours don't hold through every school holiday, so it's worth having a look at what's actually running before you plan around it. There's a café and indoor seating if you're waiting rather than riding, and the place is wheelchair accessible throughout.

Birthday parties are clearly a big part of what they do, from a small Starter Party up to a full 20-rider takeover, with food packages and party bags as add-ons if you want to skip the organising. You bring the cake, they handle the rest of the session, and the parties are pitched at complete beginners as much as kids who already ride.
