What it’s like
Indoor skate sessions from £3 for two hours, with boards and pads free to borrow.
This is an indoor skatepark running timed open sessions rather than one long free-for-all, so you turn up, pay at the door and get either two or four hours on the ramps. A two hour session is £3 for anyone aged 5 to 19 and £4 for adults, while four hours is £5 for under-20s and £7 for the grown-ups skating alongside them. If your kid has never held a board, that's covered too: hire of skateboards and protective equipment is free, and there are tuition courses running through the year for anyone who wants to get past the wobbly stage.
The week is split into different slots rather than one set opening time, which takes a bit of getting used to. Monday runs 4 to 6pm and 6 to 8pm, Tuesday and Wednesday are evening-only from 7 to 9pm, and Thursday is 6.30 to 9pm with its own separate pricing for the 13 to 19 age group at £3.50 (£4.50 for adults). Friday has three back to back sessions from 4pm through to 10pm, and the last of those, from 8 till 10, is an over-18s only slot at £4. Saturday is the one day built around younger kids, with four sessions from 10am to 6pm, so a Saturday morning is your best bet with a five or six-year-old who wants space to practise without teenagers weaving round them.
It's closed on Sundays, and there's no advance booking. Card and cash both work, which sounds obvious until you've been caught out somewhere that only takes one.
