What it’s like

A Saturday farmers market with street food and live music, plus daily food traders and coffee through the week.

This one's less about rides or model trains and more about wandering, eating and hearing some live music. Saturdays are the big draw, with a farmers market from 10am to 3pm bringing in local producers, growers, bakers and street food stalls. It's the sort of Saturday morning you can turn up to without a plan and just see what's on the stalls that week.

Outside market hours there's still daily food on offer, including Vietnamese coffee from Uplands Roast running 7am to 8pm. That long opening window (the whole place runs 8am to 8pm daily) means it works as a morning coffee stop just as easily as a lazier weekend outing.

There's live music and community events too, though the site doesn't pin down exact dates, so it's more a case of catching what's happening on the day than planning around a set schedule. With no set kids' activities as such, it suits families who fancy a relaxed browse and a bite to eat over anything with slides or play frames.

Need to know

Food
Daily food traders including Vietnamese coffee (Uplands Roast, 7am-8pm), plus Saturday Farmers Market (10am-3pm) with local producers
  • The farmers market is a Saturday-only event, so a weekday visit means just the daily food traders
  • Live music and community events happen but don't seem to run to a fixed timetable
  • Long daily hours (8am-8pm) make it easy to fit in outside the weekend rush
