What it’s like

Painting pottery, fusing glass suncatchers or dipping flowers in resin at a craft studio with free parking outside.

Pottery painting, fused glass suncatchers, resin dipped flowers, or a crafternoon session if you fancy something a bit more relaxed. It's a sit-down-and-make sort of visit rather than a run-about one, so it suits kids who are happy to concentrate on something fiddly for a while.

Most evening workshops are aimed at adults, and some of the more technical classes have a minimum age for safety reasons. Booking is required either way, and there's no online link.

Opening hours shift through the week: Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays it's 10 till 4, Thursdays it runs later, 12 till 6. Parking's free right outside, up to four hours Monday to Saturday and all day on Sundays, which takes one worry off the list. The front, shop and workshop area are all wheelchair accessible with ramps at the door, though the toilet isn't, which is a genuine gap if that matters to your visit.

One thing to know before you book: it's non-refundable. You can transfer your spot to someone else if plans change, but you won't get your money back, so don't book a Saturday slot on a whim if there's any chance of a clash.
