What it’s like

Pantomimes, family musicals and drama classes on stage, with audience participation baked into the shows.

This is a proper theatre for a family afternoon out, built around pantomimes with the songs and shouting-at-the-stage bits kids remember for weeks. There are family musicals too, the sort based on books your kids might already know, so you're not walking in cold.

If your child fancies being on the stage rather than watching it, there's a Junior Ensemble for ages 9 to 16 who audition for actual productions, and younger ones can start with the Creative Learning Mini Stages toddler drama club. It's a nice ladder if you've got a child who's panto-mad and wants to have a go themselves.

The café does drinks and snacks, and there's a 20% discount if you pre-order your food and drink rather than queuing at the interval. Pantomime audiences skew a bit older than a toddler group, four and up feels about right given the participation and the length of a full show.
