Adventure Parks & High Ropes in Southampton
Southampton has climbing and high ropes close to the centre, and open space a short drive out too. Boulder Shack, about a kilometre from the centre, has bouldering walls for climbers aged 4 and up from £3.50. Ninja Warrior UK Adventure, a bit further out, has obstacle courses and the Warped Wall for £8, suiting kids from 4 up. Go Ape at Itchen Valley Country Park runs high ropes courses and axe throwing from £20.95. For free days out, Itchen Valley Country Park has five play areas and an alpaca walk at no cost. Go Ape and Insight Activities, a drive out to Fordingbridge, both need booking ahead and suit anyone from six up, so they work well for families with older children as well as adults. Snowtrax, a longer trip out to Christchurch, adds ring tubing and ski lessons under one roof from age 5. For wide open outdoor space, Robin Hill in Newport has tobogganing, Jungle Heights and peacocks roaming free.
