What it’s like
A studio theatre in Southampton staging plays like The Breath of Life, with tickets at a flat £16.50 and no under-12s admitted.
This one's for the grown-ups, or at least the near-grown-ups. The minimum age is 12, so it's not somewhere to bring younger children along for the ride. What's on is proper studio theatre: The Breath of Life runs 21 to 26 September 2026 at 7.30pm, and there's an Open Studios session on 3 October from 10am to 1pm if you fancy a look behind the scenes rather than a full performance.
Tickets are a flat £16.50 with no concessions, which stings a bit if you were hoping for a student or over-60s rate, but at least the pricing is simple. Booking online in advance is the way to go, though you can ring up if that suits better. E-tickets only here, so don't expect to pay on the door with cash or turn up with a printed voucher.
Doors open half an hour before curtain up and that's genuinely your window: latecomers don't get in, so build in time for parking and finding your seat rather than cutting it fine. The venue itself is on the cool side because windows stay open for ventilation, so a layer or a cardigan is sensible even in September. Access needs are covered with a stairlift and a disabled toilet, and the accessible toilet and wheelchair access more generally are part of the building.
If a performance gets cancelled, they'll move you to another one rather than leave you out of pocket, which is a decent bit of reassurance for a show booked months ahead. For older teens interested in the craft side, there are also drama and performing arts classes running for children aged 4 to 16, separate from the evening productions.
