Pantomime & Family Theatre in Southampton

Panto season round here means a choice between two very different stages. Kings Theatre is out in Southsea, a proper old theatre with tickets from £10, and it leans toward ages 8 to 16 with the odd bit of faff for unaccompanied teens. Fareham Live does pantomime and family musicals too, plus drama classes, and it's happy to take ages 4 and up, so it's the better bet for the younger end. If you're after something cheaper, Kings Theatre starts at £10, though the bar there is card only, so leave the loose change at home. It's fully kitted out with baby change, accessible toilet and blue badge parking, and there's a cafe on site along with a hearing loop for anyone who needs it. Fareham Live keeps things simpler with just a cafe and food on site, but the audience participation baked into its shows tends to win over the smaller kids who might find a big old theatre a bit much.
