What it’s like

Bumpers and lighter balls make the lanes work for a four-year-old, while escape rooms and karaoke give older kids somewhere to go after.

Twenty-six lanes here, with bumpers and lighter balls for the younger ones, so a four-year-old can actually get the ball down the lane instead of watching it stop halfway. Up to six can bowl on one lane, which matters if you've got a big group or a birthday crowd in tow. Reckon on about ten minutes a person for a full game, so a family of four is looking at forty minutes or so once everyone's had their go.

Beyond the lanes there's karaoke, escape rooms, pool and the arcade, which is handy for older kids who'll get bored of bowling after one game but aren't quite done with the place yet. A 30-minute karaoke slot is £25, and escape rooms are £13.50 a head, so it adds up fast if you're doing more than one activity in a visit.

Bowling itself is £8.30 online, and you don't have to book, walk-ins are fine. That said, they're upfront that weekends and school holidays get busy, and booking guarantees your lane rather than leaving you waiting around while the kids get restless. If you do book, they want you there fifteen minutes early to get your names down, which is a bit of a faff if you're already juggling coats and shoes.

Birthday parties run Saturdays and Sundays, 10am to noon, £13.99 a child with a minimum of six kids. That covers bowling, pizza, squash, dancing and balloon modelling, plus a goody bag.
