What it’s like
Sunday kids clubs teach simple meditation to under-5s and 5 to 12s, with a café on site for the grown-ups waiting.
This is a meditation and Buddhist retreat centre in Derby, and the bit that'll interest most parents is the Sunday morning offer. There's a Kids Club for 0 to 5s and a separate Family Club for 5 to 12s, both running 10:30 to 11:30am, and both built around meditation pitched at the age group. It's a gentler start to a Sunday than most soft play, and if your child's already into stillness and breathing games rather than climbing frames, this fills a gap nobody else does locally.
The World Peace Cafe is open 10am to 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday, for food and drinks, so there's somewhere to sit before or after the kids club rather than hovering in reception. Reception itself keeps the same 10am to 4pm hours across those five days.
Beyond the children's sessions, the centre runs a full adult programme: lunchtime meditation at 12:30, evening classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, a Friday morning class, and an event called A Taste of Peace that pairs meditation with a shared meal. None of that is for the kids, but it means there's something for you to do too if you fancy sitting in on a class while they're at their own club, or coming back another day without them.
There's a gift shop on site as well, and the centre does school visits. Worth knowing this isn't a drop-in soft play type of morning: it's meditation-led, calmer, and probably better suited to a child who can sit for a stretch than one who needs to be running about.

There's a full adult programme alongside it, including lunchtime meditation and evening classes, plus an event called A Taste of Peace that combines meditation with a meal.

Not really, it's meditation-led rather than play-based, so it suits a child who can sit and focus for the hour more than one who wants to run around.
