A garden and aquatic supplies shop where you can wander past tanks of tropical, coldwater and marine fish, plus reptiles and amphibians.
This is a working aquatic and pond supplies shop rather than an attraction built for children, but the livestock section gives kids something proper to look at. There are tanks of tropical, coldwater, pond and marine fish to work through, corals in the marine section, and a run of exotic reptiles and amphibians that will slow down any kid who likes things with scales.
It's a browse rather than a big day out, so it suits a shortish visit tucked around other errands rather than something you plan a whole afternoon around. There's no entry fee mentioned anywhere, which makes it an easy stop if you're already out that way, but don't expect activities laid on for children, this is a retail floor with animals in it, not a hands-on zoo.
Worth knowing before you go: what's actually in stock does not always match what the website shows, and it's first-come-first-served, so if your seven-year-old has set their heart on seeing a particular fish, there's a chance it has already sold. Opening hours are generous, Monday to Saturday from 9am to half 5, Sunday 10 till 4, and it stays open on bank holiday Mondays even though it shuts on the others.
