There's more here than lanes. Alongside the ten pin bowling you've got duck pin bowling, mini golf, ice-free curling, tech darts, virtual shooting and shuffleboard, plus a batting cage and karaoke room for when the bowling scores start getting embarrassing. It's the sort of venue where you can split a big group two ways, half on the lanes, half having a go at American pool or the arcade games, and swap over later.
Money-wise, the Lucky Stars weekday offer works out at £6 for four people, which is a decent way in if you're not fussed about which day you go. Kids parties start at £13 a head and include a game of bowling or mini golf plus unlimited squash, and if you're doing drinks on top there are £5 and £7 vouchers. Food covers pizza, hot dogs, nachos and fries, with ice cream and pick n mix for pudding, and the drinks list stretches from slushies to cocktails for the grown-ups.
Shoe hire's included in the bowling price, though you can wear your own trainers if you'd rather, just no heels on the lanes. Under 16s need an adult of 21 or over with them, which is fair enough but worth sorting out before you turn up with a gaggle of kids and one exhausted parent. They say walk-ins are fine, though booking ahead saves the disappointment of a full house on a Saturday.
