What it’s like
Skateboarding sessions and coaching at an indoor-outdoor Cardiff skatepark, with a café doing homemade burgers and flatbreads.
This is a skatepark first and foremost, with coaching sessions if your kid has never stood on a board and workshops for the creative side of things too. It sits right on Newport Road, walking distance from the city centre, and there's a bus if you'd rather not park.
The café is doing more than the usual skatepark hot dog. Homemade burgers, chips, flatbreads and bakes, with sauces made in-house, plus a beer garden for the adults keeping half an eye on proceedings. Weekends bring a fuller menu with breakfast pancakes all day, which is the sort of detail that tells you this place takes its food as seriously as its ramps. Weekdays it's counter snacks, simpler and quicker.
It's step-free throughout with an accessible toilet, and dogs are welcome if yours comes everywhere with you. There's an on-site car park and bike parking too, so however you get there you're not stuck. School visits and group bookings both happen here, and birthday parties are clearly a regular thing, so it's not just a drop-in spot for the odd Saturday.
There's no age range spelled out.
