What it’s like
Musical theatre, dance and acting classes for kids and teens, with recording sessions and party packages for existing students.
This is a classes-and-lessons setup rather than a one-off day out. Kids sign up for musical theatre, dance, acting or private singing lessons, and there are workshops and recording sessions thrown in too. Theatre and cinema trips get organised as well, so it's less "turn up once" and more "join and keep coming back".
Ages run from 3 right up to 18, which is a decent span, and it means a shy three-year-old doing their first dance class isn't sharing a room with a sixteen-year-old working on audition pieces. Whether a particular class suits your child's age is worth asking about directly, since a stage school spanning fifteen years of childhood will obviously split things up somehow.
The party offer is the interesting bit if your kid's already a student here. A Recording Party is £200 for two hours and up to 10 guests, so your child gets to make an actual recording with their mates rather than just eating cake in a hall. There's also a Dance Party at £200 for two hours at the venue, or £125 if you'd rather they came to you, for up to 25 guests. The catch is that both parties are for current SPA students only, so this isn't something you can book cold if you've never set foot in the place.
It sits on a busy bus route and the site says it's easy to reach from Abbeydale Road, so getting there without a car isn't a problem. There's free parking too, which is one less thing to think about if you are driving over after school.
