What it’s like
A community building with a baby and toddler group, junior boxing, a youth club and holiday activity sessions under one roof.
This is a proper community hub rather than a single activity, so what you turn up for depends on the day. There's a Baby & Toddler Group for the smallest ones, a Kids Glove Class if your child fancies trying boxing, and Junior Boxing if that first taste goes down well. Older kids get a Youth Club and something called Future Makers, which from what they list is aimed at young people getting stuck into activities rather than just sitting about.
There's also a Home Education Group, useful if you're schooling outside the mainstream system and want other families to compare notes with, and Family Voice sessions for parents who want a say in how the place runs. During school holidays they run a Holiday Activities and Food Programme, which tends to be the one families rely on when the usual routine goes out the window for six weeks.
The building itself is open long hours in the week, 8am to 10pm Monday to Thursday and until 8pm on Friday, so there's room to fit sessions around work or school pickup. It's shut on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays though, which is a bit of a faff if weekends are your only free time. There's a café and indoor seating on site, wheelchair access, and party rooms if you're thinking of booking a birthday there.
