What it’s like
Tenpin bowling with bumpers and ramps for the smaller ones, plus a non-contact laser game for older kids.
Bowling's the main event here, and it's set up so bumpers can go up for a wobbly four-year-old's go, though the site's clear they have to stay up or down for the whole game rather than popping in and out lane by lane. Ramps are available too if little arms need the help. Once you're past bowling shoes (flat and closed-toe only, so leave the sandals in the car), it's automatic scoring and however many frames you fancy.
Lazer Zone is the other draw, a non-contact game that'll suit the kids who've outgrown bowling but aren't quite ready to sit still through a meal. The catch is you can't book it online, it's phone only, which feels a bit backwards when the bowling side lets you sort everything on a screen.
Opening hours shift through the week, starting later on a Monday afternoon and opening from 10am at weekends, and school holidays bring their own amended times with the centre sometimes staying open later by arrangement. Parking's free round the back of the building, which takes one thing off the list. Food comes from the Bawtry Bar and Diner on site, though the kitchen doesn't always keep the same hours as the rest of the centre.
Birthday parties are clearly a big part of what they do, with kids and teen packages covering two activities and food within a two-hour slot, and a minimum of six guests to book one. Booking ahead for bowling is worth doing regardless of parties, especially at weekends and in the holidays when lanes fill up fast.

Plan your visit
Do we need to book?
Yes for bowling, and it's essential at weekends and during school holidays. Lazer Zone can only be booked by phone, not online.
What shoes do we need?
Flat, closed-toe shoes only, no open toes, heels or bare feet. Bowling shoes are available on site subject to availability.
Is it any good for a toddler?
Bumpers and ramps are both available, so a small child can still get the ball down the lane. Just note the bumpers stay up or down for the whole game, they can't be switched mid way through.
What about parking?
Free parking on site at the rear of the building.
What are the opening hours?
Monday afternoons from 4pm, Tuesday to Friday from 2pm, and weekends from 10am, all closing around 9pm. School holidays bring different hours, sometimes staying open later.
Can we book a birthday party?
Kids and teen parties start from £17.50 per guest with two activities and food included, over a two hour slot, with a minimum of six people. Adult parties start from £25 per person.
