What it’s like

Beginner salsa and bachata classes on a Manchester dance floor, followed by a Latin party that runs into the small hours.

Two beginner classes back to back, bachata first at half seven, then salsa at half eight, an hour each so you leave knowing actual steps rather than just having flapped about for sixty minutes. Then on Fridays the party takes over from half nine and runs until 2am, so if you fancy trying out what you've just learned on a proper dance floor, that's the night to pick.

The site describes it as people of all ages coming along for dancing, socialising and making friends, so it's not a strict beginners-only crowd. A single class is £7, or £5 if you're a student, and doing both bachata and salsa the same day comes to £10 (£7 for students), which is the better way to do it if you're going to be there anyway. The Friday party itself is another £7 on top if you're staying on.

There's no booking link, you sort it through WhatsApp instead, which is a bit old-school but at least it means an actual person answers your questions rather than a form. Turning up on time for the class matters more here than at most dance nights, since you're building on steps from the start of the hour.

Expect live music and shows as part of the mix on top of the regular classes and parties, from what they describe. It reads as a proper social scene rather than a one-off tourist thing, the sort of night you'd come back to on a normal Friday rather than just once.
