What it’s like

Weekly dance classes for ages 3 to 16, from Early Years Academy to street dance, KPop, jazz and break dance, starting with a taster session.

This is a working dance studio rather than a one-off day out, so the deal is classes, not a drop-in play session. Kids aged 3 to 16 can try break dance, commercial, street dance, KPop, Afro Fusion or jazz, and the youngest ones have their own Early Years Academy sessions built for that age rather than a scaled-down version of the teen classes.

Everyone starts with a taster session at £7 before signing up properly, which is a sensible way to find out if your seven-year-old actually likes KPop before you commit to a term of it. After that it moves to monthly subscriptions, mostly around £7 a class, though Afro Fusion on a Wednesday is sold as a four-class monthly package for £37 and the Early Years Academy has its own termly or annual pricing if you want to lock in a full year. There's also a £50 monthly studio membership if your child ends up doing more than one style, which is worth working out against paying per class.

Getting there is straightforward if you're in that part of Manchester: Central Park and Monsall tram stops are both under a five-minute walk, the 151 bus stops opposite, and Dean Lane and Manchester Victoria stations are within a mile or two. No need to drive round looking for a space if you're coming by public transport.

If a birthday's coming up, the studio hires out its space for parties, which is a nice option if your child already loves the classes and wants their friends in on it rather than another soft play do.
