What it’s like

Eighteen themed holes with a loop-the-loop speedway hole, plus 1980s arcade games and ten pin bowling on the side.

Eighteen holes, each with its own theme: a skatepark hole, a speedway hole with an actual loop the loop, a pub, a dog house and a forest one that leans hard into Stranger Things nostalgia. It's the kind of course that keeps a competitive nine-year-old occupied for a full round, and the site reckons about an hour to get round it, longer if your putting's as bad as most people's.

There's a stone-baked pizzeria on site, so the plan of golf then pizza more or less writes itself. Budget nearer an hour and a half all in once you've eaten, and the site's honest that it can overrun, which checks out if you've ever queued behind a family of six on the windmill hole. At £9 a head for all ages it's not a bank-breaker, and parking's free on site.

The one that catches people out is prams. They're not allowed on the course, so if you've got a baby in tow you'll need someone to hold them or take turns outside while the older ones play. Wheelchair users can watch but not play the golf itself, though the ten pin bowling is fully accessible and worth asking about if that's the better fit for your group.

Weekdays you can likely just turn up, but they'd rather you booked for weekends, and if you're changing a booking they want three days' notice, which is worth knowing if plans wobble. Birthday parties run for kids aged 6 to 13 with a minimum of eight children, golf, party food and a room to yourselves, and there are separate adult party packages with pizza, drinks and bowling if it's a grown-up do instead.
