Pier Pressure Escape Rooms
WHERE
Brighton
What it’s like
An hour trapped in a fright-free puzzle room, with your host ready to let you out if the clock beats you.
You've got an hour to work through the puzzles and get out, but nobody's locking the door behind you. These rooms skip the horror theming other places go for, so it's all fright free, no jump scares, no actors chasing you down a corridor. That makes it a decent shout if someone in your group gets uneasy in small spaces, since you can step out for air whenever you like and none of the rooms are smaller than an average bedroom.
Budget 80 to 90 minutes for the whole visit, not just the 60 minutes of actual game time. There's a briefing before you start and a debrief after, plus the loo breaks that seem to bookend everyone's escape room trip. If the hour runs out before you crack it, your host lets you back out rather than leaving you to stew.
Group size is capped and they mean it, so don't turn up expecting to squeeze two extra people in on the day. Bigger groups can book more than one room and race each other instead, which sounds like the better version of the day out anyway.

Plan your visit
How long does it actually take?
The game runs for an hour, but they say to allow 80 to 90 minutes in total once you count the briefing, photos and loo breaks either side.
Are the rooms scary?
No horror theming here, they keep everything fright free.
What if we don't finish in time?
Your host lets you back out of the room even if the clock runs out before you solve it.
Is it OK if someone gets claustrophobic?
The rooms aren't actually locked, so you can step outside any time you need to. None of them are smaller than an average bedroom either.
Can we bring extra people to fit more in?
The max group limit is strict, but bigger groups can book multiple rooms and split into teams.
