What it’s like
A 40 minute police station lock-up in Brighton, entry-level enough for a first escape room but still fun for veterans.
You're locked in a cell in an old police station themed room, and you've got 40 minutes to think your way out. It's pitched as an entry-level escape room, so don't expect fiendish puzzles that leave you stuck for half the session. That's actually the point if you've got a seven or eight-year-old along, since anyone under 12 needs an adult with them anyway.
Count on about an hour all told once you factor in the introduction and photos at the end, which happens at Presuming Ed's bar where the whole thing is based. Pricing is per head and creeps about depending on group size: £18 solo per person in a group of four (£72 total), £19.50 each for a pair, and £20 if you're doing it properly solo. Under 7s aren't allowed to play but can apparently tag along for free, which is a nice touch if you've got a younger sibling who'd otherwise be left out.
Booking is required, though you can do it online as late as an hour before a slot if there's space, which takes the pressure off planning too far ahead. The room sits at the top of an old bank building, so there's no wheelchair access here (Escape the Vault, a different room, is step-free if that's what you need). Presuming Ed's does bao buns, cakes, sandwiches and pizza for £5.

Seven and up to actually play. Under 7s can come along for free since there aren't any jumps or scares, but anyone under 12 needs an adult with them.
How much does it cost?
£18 per person in a group of four (£72 total), £19.50 each for two, £20 solo. Groups of three are also £18 a head.
How long does it take?

Do we need to book ahead?
Booking is required, but it can be done online up to an hour before a slot if there's availability.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
No, it's at the top of a building inside an old bank. Escape the Vault, a sister room, has step-free access on the ground floor if that matters.

It's based at Presuming Ed's café, which does bang bao buns, cakes, sandwiches, pizza and hot drinks over the counter.
