What it’s like
You pick a plate, mug or novelty piece and paint it by hand, then leave it to be fired ready for collection.
The studio works session by session: you turn up at your booked time, choose a piece of pottery, a plate, bowl, mug or one of the seasonal shapes, and sit down to paint it. There's no rush written into the price, but sessions run in fixed slots through the day, so you're working within a couple of hours rather than an open afternoon.
The studio fee is £5 for an adult and £3 for a child, and that's separate from the pottery itself, which runs from £7 up to £40 depending on what you pick. That two-part pricing catches people out if they're not expecting it.
Birthday parties get up to two hours with tuition included and a choice of pottery, priced at £24 a head for children and £29 for adults, both with a minimum of ten people. You can bring your own food along, which helps if you'd rather not add catering costs on top. Everything here runs by appointment only, so this isn't a walk-in sort of afternoon; you book your slot in advance, whether it's a couple of studio fees for a quiet hour or a full party booking for ten.
