What it’s like
A comedy and gig venue with seated shows for most ages 14 plus, though some nights are strictly adults only.
This is a proper venue for a night of comedy or a gig rather than a soft play afternoon out, so it's worth knowing what you're walking into before you book anything. Most gigs are 14 plus, but Bongo's Bingo nights are strictly 18+, and each event has its own age rule listed on the website, so check what you're actually buying tickets for. Under-twos who don't need their own seat get in without a ticket, which is handy if you've got a baby who'll sleep through the support act.
There's no box office here, which feels like an odd choice for a venue this size. Tickets on the door only happen occasionally, subject to availability, and they're advertised on social media rather than guaranteed, so turning up on spec is a gamble. E-tickets need a scannable QR code on your phone, an email confirmation won't cut it at the door.
Food and drink from outside isn't allowed once you're in, and the bar only opens before the performance and takes cards only, no cash. Buggy storage exists but it's limited and first come first served, so get there early if you're bringing one, and be ready to fold it up. The nearest parking is the Q-Park directly opposite, £4.40 for an evening, tap in and tap out with a card.
Access-wise it's step-free with a ramp, wheelchair positions for seated shows, and a free companion ticket if you need one. Only service animals are allowed in, so leave the family dog at home. There's a cloakroom for coats and small bags down the foyer stairs, though bags bigger than A4 won't fit.

Plan your visit
What age is this suitable for?
Most gigs are 14 plus, but some events like Bongo's Bingo are 18+ only. Check the specific event before booking, since age limits vary night to night. Under-twos who don't need a seat get in free without a ticket.
Can we just turn up and buy tickets on the day?
There's no box office, so this isn't reliable. Door tickets happen occasionally subject to availability and get advertised on their socials, so it's a bit of a gamble turning up without one already booked.
Is there parking nearby?
The Durham Road Q-Park is directly opposite and does 24 hour secure parking. Evening parking is £4.40, tap your card in and out.
Can we bring a buggy?
There's buggy storage but it's limited and first come first served, and you'll need to collapse it if possible. Get there early if the space matters to you.
What about food and drink?
You can't bring your own food or drink in. There's a bar open before the show but it's cards only, no cash.
