Sheffield

What it’s like

A comedy venue with level access throughout, a viewing platform for wheelchair users and a bar doing pizza and burgers.

This is a comedy club rather than a kids' attraction, so it's one for the older end of the family, teenagers who fancy a proper night out rather than little ones. There's no parking on site, which is a bit of a faff if you're driving over, but Q-Park on Durham Road is only 240 metres off and has disabled bays, or you can chance the on-street parking in Broomhall. The tram stop for the University of Sheffield is a short walk too.

Access has clearly had some proper thought put into it. It's level access throughout, there's a viewing platform that takes eight people including wheelchairs, and accessible toilets in both Foundry and Fusion, though you'll need a Radar Key for those. Worth flagging that the disabled viewing platform isn't guaranteed at every event, so club nights in particular might not have it. If you need any access support, the venue wants you to book your ticket first, then fill in their access form or get in touch directly, and deaf or disabled customers get a free ticket for a personal assistant on the door.

Bar One does pizza, burgers and drinks if you want to make an evening of it rather than just turning up for the show and leaving. Assistance dogs are welcome, but they need to be declared through the access form beforehand rather than just walking in with one on the night.
