What it’s like

A working social club in Crookes hosting toddler and baby sensory classes alongside quiz nights, bingo and a comedy club.

This is one of those venues that's really several different clubs under one roof, and the daytime side is the bit that matters if you've got small kids. Toddler Sensory and Baby Sensory classes run here, so it's worth thinking of it as a proper baby and toddler venue by day before it turns into something else by night.

Once the sun goes down the same room does quiz and bingo in the lounge, live music including Sheffield Jazz nights, and a comedy club, plus Brownies and an Academy of Self Defence on other days. That mix tells you this isn't a soft play or an attraction built around children, it's a community club that happens to host sensory classes as part of a much wider timetable. If you're going for the sensory sessions, that's the plan for the visit rather than a whole day out.

Opening hours shift a fair bit through the week, from 6:30pm starts on a Monday to a midday opening on Saturday and Sunday. There's indoor seating listed, which is about as much as you need to know for parking a buggy and a coffee cup while you wait.

What do the kids actually do here?

The main draw for young children is Toddler Sensory and Baby Sensory classes. Outside of that the club runs Brownies, self defence classes, quiz and bingo nights, live music and a comedy club.

What are the opening hours?

They vary by day. Monday is 6:30pm to 11pm, Thursday and Friday open earlier at 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday open at midday.

Is there anywhere to sit while we wait?

Indoor seating is listed, so there's somewhere to park yourself and a buggy.

Do we need to book the sensory classes?

There's no booking link listed for the club, so it's likely the classes are run and booked separately rather than through the venue itself.

Is this an all day venue for kids?

Not really. It's a social club with a packed evening timetable of adult activities, so the sensory classes are a specific slot in the week rather than something you'd spend a whole day at.
