What it’s like
Hand-build, paint pre-made ceramics or try the wheel in a two-hour taster session for kids and families.
This is a proper craft studio, not a five-minute paint-a-mug stop. Kids can hand-build from scratch, paint a pre-made pot if they want something to take home the same day, or have a go on the pottery wheel, which is the one they'll be on about after. The taster session runs for two hours, which is a decent stretch for anyone over about six, though it's worth thinking about whether a very young toddler will sit still that long.
Saturdays bring family ceramic workshops, so if you want everyone in the family painting or building together rather than splitting into a kids' session and a parents' coffee, that's the day to go for. Booking is required, there's no online link to sort it yourself, so you'll need to get in touch directly to grab a slot.
They also do ceramic parties, for kids' birthdays but also for staff or group gatherings if you fancy something a bit different for a work do. Pricing for parties is done on request rather than posted anywhere.
Ages run from babies right up to twelve, though the wheel and hand-building classes will suit the older end of that range best, with painting pre-made pieces the easier option for the younger ones.
