What it’s like
Hand-build porcelain decorations and imprinted clay vases at a pottery party you book and decorate as your own.
This isn't the sit-down-and-paint-a-mug type of pottery place. The site lists hand-building work, porcelain hanging decorations and an imprinted vase made from earthenware clay, so there's actual shaping and pressing going on before anyone gets near a paintbrush. Once the pieces are made, decorating them is part of the session too.
It's booked as a party, £45 a head, and you need at least six people to make it happen. That's not pocket-money pricing for a group of kids, and it stings a bit more when you remember you also have to bring the party food yourself, there's none laid on. Worth factoring into your budget alongside the session fee.
Booking works on a 50% deposit to hold your date, with the rest due a fortnight before you turn up. That's a fair bit of admin for a kids' party. The imprinted vase sounds like the bit to save for last, since it needs the clay to hold its shape before anyone starts pressing patterns into it.
