What it’s like
Three underground escape rooms with 60 minutes to crack puzzles, from spy-hunting with Churchill to a post-apocalyptic London.
This one's for kids who are past the soft play stage and fancy something that actually makes them think. Three rooms to pick from: help Winston Churchill root out an enemy spy in Codebreakers, poke around a haunted train in The Lost Passenger, or pick through a post-apocalyptic London in Under-Ground 2099. You get 60 minutes on the clock once the game master's given you the briefing, and teams run private, so it's just your lot in the room.
It's set in a disused underground station, which is a nice bit of theming but means no wheelchair access at all, worth knowing before you book if that matters to your group. Two of the three games have tunnels where you'll need to crouch or crawl, though the site says these can be skipped if someone's not up for it. Minimum age is 9, and anyone under 15 needs an adult over 18 with them, so this isn't one for a mixed-age family trip with younger siblings in tow.
Money-wise it's £28 a player, and teams work best at 3 to 6 people, though two of you can technically have a go if you don't mind paying for the third seat. Birthday packages start at £41 for a single room with two hours and snacks included, running up to £80 for the Saturday VIP version with two rooms and three hours. One thing to flag: there's no refund once your session's confirmed, only a reschedule, so don't book on a whim if plans might change.
There's no parking on site. Doors are open long hours, 10am to 11pm every day, which gives you plenty of slots to choose from if the usual weekend times are booked out.
