WHERE

Newcastle under Lyme

What it’s like

A multi-activity venue with laser tag, bowling, crazy golf, a cinema, an escape room and soft play all under one roof.

There's a lot going on here, so the trick is picking two or three things rather than trying to do all of it in one visit. Laser shooting is the obvious headline, but there's also ten pin bowling, crazy golf and an escape room if your group fancies something that isn't just running about with a blaster. Younger kids get their own soft play area with a slide, so it's not all aimed at the ones old enough to hold a laser gun.

If you've got a mixed group, the reclining seat cinema is the bit that quietly saves the day: it's somewhere to park the ones who've had enough of the physical stuff while everyone else has another go at the golf or the arcades. Ping pong tables are also in the mix, which is a nice low-key option between the bigger activities.

Food-wise you're not stuck with one option. There's Subway, The Boulevard, and Pepe's Piri Piri on site, plus a café, so a group with different tastes and fussy eaters won't end up arguing about where to eat. It's open daily from 8am until 11pm, which is a wide window and means you're not limited to weekend slots.

Parking is straightforward with a multi-storey on site, and if you're coming without a car it's a five-minute walk from Newcastle under Lyme bus station. It's wheelchair accessible throughout, which matters given how many different activities are packed into the one building.
