What it’s like

Role play, a baby-only sensory room and a small outdoor garden, all under one roof for under-fives.

This one's built entirely around the under-5s, so there's none of the usual dodging bigger kids on scooters. There's a role play area where they can be a chef, a doctor or a farmer for the morning, a dedicated space for babies under a year with soft textures and gentle sounds well away from anyone toddling about, and an outdoor garden with nature-based sensory bits if you fancy getting them outside without leaving the venue.

Sessions run Monday and Friday at 9:30, 11:30 and 1:30, and you're free to turn up any time within your slot rather than bang on the dot. The catch is you have to leave when the session ends, because they close the place to clean between groups, so don't plan on drifting through into the next one.

They ask you not to bring your own food or drink unless you've squared it with them first, but there's a café on site doing snacks and Clo coffee. Parking's free and right outside, with pram spaces to keep buggies dry and somewhere to dump coats and bags, so getting a baby and all their kit through the door isn't the faff it can be elsewhere.

It's aimed at under-fives day to day, though they do run occasional holiday sessions for older children if you get on the mailing list. Booking ahead is recommended rather than turning up on spec, and they also do birthday parties and group bookings if you're thinking beyond a normal visit.
